The Falklands' voice heard: Commemorating 10 years since the Referendum

Ten years ago, the people of the Falkland Islands participated in a landmark referendum, overseen by international observers, to determine their political status as an Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom. The question posed was, “Do you wish the Falkland Islands to retain their current political status?” and an overwhelming 99.8% of voters, on a 92% turnout, chose to remain a self-governing territory of the UK.

Uruguay, Brazil agree on joint infrastructure works

Uruguay's Deputy Tourism Minister Remo Monzeglio said this week that the South American country was going through the most active cruise season in the past 8 years, with 160 ships arrived so far (116 in Montevideo, 44 in Punta del Este and 44 others yet to reach its shores.

Chile shows negative inflation in February

Chile recorded a 0.1% decrease in its Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the month of February of 2023 for an interannual 11.9% increase, the National Statistics Institute (INE) reported in Santiago Wednesday. It was the first negative monthly variation since November 2020.
