Application period for UK Chevening scholarships opens in Montevideo

These scholarships are targeted at outstanding Uruguayan scholars with the potential to rise to positions of leadership and influence

The British Embassy Montevideo and Uruguay’s National Research and Innovation Agency signed an agreement to triple the number of scholarships.

This year three Chevening/ANII scholarships will be awarded to study a Master’s degree in the United Kingdom in the areas of Energy (including Renewable Energy), International Relations, Health, Environment and Biodiversity, Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

These scholarships are targeted at outstanding Uruguayan scholars with the potential to rise to positions of leadership and influence. Applicants will need to demonstrate that they possess the personal, intellectual and interpersonal attributes reflecting this potential.

Each award will provide full payment of academic tuition fees, including examination and thesis costs, a monthly stipend for living expenses sufficient for a single student, an allowance package and a return airfare.

Applications for the scholarships must be made through the on-line application system e-Chevening, before 15th November 2013. Further details about how to apply are available on the Chevening webpage.

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship program, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations.

Over the last 30 years, over 41,000 exceptional students from over 100 countries, have become Chevening alumni and joined this influential and highly regarded global network.
