Consumption in Argentina has dropped below the pandemic and 2001 levels as the South American country's economy continues its erratic behavior under Libertarian President Javier Milei, whose administration depicts a different scenario. The drop in household consumption is just the tip of the iceberg. We will also see a sharp drop in tax revenues, which will necessarily lead to new cuts in public spending. And, once again, a squeeze on the earnings of workers who manage to stay employed.
