The initial location makes no sense: “. . .located between the states of Amapá and Rio Grande do Norte”, but the subsequent description as being between Ceara and Rio Grande do Norte does. In the 1970's and 80's I was on platforms offshore Fortaleza looking for these horizons. Apparently Petrobras finally went deep enough. If these discoveries pan out, perhaps Fortaleza will finally get the refinery it should have back when the huge Potiguar production of shallow oil came on stream. Good for Petrobras. I trust they will put the corrupt past behind them and continue to power the future of the nation for everyone's benefit.

This oil discovery, in my opinion, is the biggest the world has ever seen. Ten times larger than the pre-salt in the Southeast Region. Something around 400 billion barrels of excellent quality oil.

Regarding environmentalists, Petrobrás developed its own technology for exploring oil in deep waters, which has not caused any environmental disaster for more than 30 years. Unlike BP Water Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico.

I believe that environmentalists should monitor the oil prospecting carried out in the Essequibo region, which is much closer to Foz do Amazonas and is not carried out with the proven competence of Petrobrás.

    Congratulations for our Brazilian friends!

Meanwhile today my family are enjoying freshly harvested peaches with Chile Champagne.

The authentic Italian Bellini, like the one first made in Harry's Bar in Venice, combine one part fresh peach puree with two parts Prosecco.

    An absolutely marvelous beverage!

“To all MP readers enduring Skippy's diatribes:”

Which emaniate entirely from Chicureo the 'malignant narcissist'
Skippy was never here, and your not all here
Skippy has never attempted to steal my valor, only yourself has made such an attempt; and the last time I looked I was hale and hearty.

    What is Malignant Narcissism?
Erich Fromm was a psychiatrist in the United States who immigrated from Hitler’s Germany in the 1930s. He was a world leader in many aspects of mental health and diagnosis. In his 1964 book, The Heart of Man: Its Genius for Good and Evil, Fromm used this term for the first time when he identified the pathology of narcissism as having two types: “benign narcissism” and “malignant narcissism.”

“On the other hand, there is a malignant narcissism. This is not about achievement, but rather something the person thinks they inherently have that’s special: “for instance, his body, his looks, his health, his wealth, etc…. Malignant narcissism, thus, is not self-limiting.” Fromm gives examples of many historical figures who had this type:
“The Egyptian Pharaohs, the Roman Caesars, the Borgias, Hitler, Stalin, Trujillo — they all show certain similar features.

The essence — and biggest danger — of malignant narcissism is that it keeps growing. Fromm wrote: “It is a madness that tends to grow in the lifetime of the afflicted person. The more he tries to be a god, the more he isolates himself from the human race; this isolation makes him more frightened, everybody becomes his enemy, and in order to stand the resulting fright he has to increase his power, his ruthlessness, and his narcissism.”
