The “blue” (a euphemism for “black market”) dollar climbed AR$ 3 and reached AR$ 605 on the last working day before Sunday's Open, Mandatory, and Simultaneous Primary (PASO) elections in Argentina, it was reported Friday in Buenos Aires. The value of a currency is based on the level of confidence it conveys.

That said, I ask the following question: If you were the owner of a large agribusiness, would you sell it to someone who paid in dollars?

I would not sell!

With all due respect, I would gain the maximum revenue possible in my exported product.

Considering the high risks and volatile markets, not doing this can be the difference of survival in today's marketplace.

Currently I'm at our family farm and admiring the beautiful Andes - praying for a decent season.
