Disney Cruse Line has plans for two 122.000 tons vessels

Media conglomerate Walt Disney Co. said Thursday that it plans to expand its cruise business with the addition of two new ocean liners to meet demand for its family cruise vacations.

The company signed a letter of intent to negotiate a contract with Germany-based Meyer Werft shipyard on the 122,000-ton unnamed vessels. The ships, which are expected to launch in 2011 and 2012, each with 1.250 staterooms will more than double the passenger capacity for the Disney Cruise Line. Each vessel will be two decks taller than the existing 83,000-ton Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. Specific design plans and itineraries for the ocean liners are still in development and will be announced at a later time. Bob Iger from Walt Disney Co. said the expansion of the cruise fleet was a "logic step" in a business division that is growing. Disney joined the cruise business in 1998 emphasizing on family vacations
