The Tierra del Fuego provincial Legislative held on Wednesday its first ordinary session of 2022 to approve several decrees and motions referred to the Malvinas Question, and to mark the 40th anniversary of the conflict, triggered by the invasion of the Falkland Islands by Argentine forces on April 2nd 1982.

The Orders of the Day also included strong disapproval of new missile batteries in the Falklands and rejection of the appointment of Alison Mary Blake as the next governor of the Islands.

The provincial lawmakers started by honoring Malvinas Veterans and Fallen combatants, and declaring April 17 the “Day of War Veteran from Tierra del Fuego”,. April 17 is the birth date of Ampuero Yañez from Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego, who has been recognized as a “provincial hero” for his “patriotism and valor shown during the armed conflict in 1982, in defense of the sovereignty of the Argentine Republic”.

Argentina already has a national commemoration “Day of the Veterans and of the Fallen in the Malvinas War”, which is a bank holiday and takes place on April 2nd, and this year is next Saturday.

Another issue decided was nomenclature and topography topics, by giving names linked to history and territorial integrity of Tierra del Fuego, to places both in the Argentine extreme south island shared with Chile, and in the Falklands/Malvinas.

Likewise the 297 Malvinas Veterans residing in Tierra del Fuego are to be considered as “Significant and Admired Citizens of the Province”. A special acknowledgment was also extended for Argentine Air Force personnel stationed in the island's bases during the conflict,

Finally lawmakers expressed their deepest condemnation to “the mounting of new ground-air missile batteries in the Malvinas Islands”, plus a special “welcome salutation” to the “illegitimate appointment” as “colonial governor of our Malvinas Islands, Alison Mary Blake”, the first woman governor of the Falklands.

Think- I ,mentioned Cruise Missiles as your numpties in TDF called what the RAF has here- Missiles- they are as you know- -short range self-defence ground launched anti-aircraft missiles - not what one nomally calls missiles- ie the offensive ones.

As for the system of Govt - yes we are happy with it - as was clearly demonstrated in the 2013 referendum. Maybe we will have another in 2023 just to clarify it to all.

Trimonde , you are off again on your fantasy world order. Spain never claimed any part if the Islands. It was France who had the first settlement in the place known as Port Louis at the same time Britain was established at Port Egmont.
France and Britain were at odds and eventually France decided to leave. They however tried to get one over the British by offering the settlement at Port Louis to Spain. Not the entire Falklands as you think.
Then Argentina years , even decades later wanted independence from Spain who at first for many years ignored you.
You then finally got independence and assumed you also got the islands.
History shows there was no gift of the islands to Argentina at all. So as I have been asking you on other threads, give me the absolute written verified proof that Spain handed the islands to Argentina. Remember that Spain never actually ever owned the islands and technically neither did the french. Their occupation was brief and in defiance of Britains claim in 1592.
So produce the legal document otherwise shut to hell up.because you are talking a load if crap.

You are talking nonsense. I know the islands total history very well.

Spain landed in Mexico too...why is that not part of Argentina? How about Madrid? Do you claim that?

The Spanish inhabitants of the islands left via Uruguay, not Argentina....odd if they are Argentine? By your logic the islands are Uruguayan...hand them over...hehehe

    Spain claimed Texas....is that Argentina.

I knew once the 1832 farce was proven a lie, you'd move to the equally ludicrous “inherited from Spain” farce. What about South Georgia....Spain was never there!

So, no inheritance from Spain...no 1833 ursurpation...want to go onto the next fantasy around Vernet? Or are you done?

I will laugh at “Spain didnt go round stealing others land for their Empire” for a very long time.

    Chuckle.
