    Argentina confirms sixth case of monkeypox nationwide

    A new case of monkeypox was confirmed Friday in the Argentine province of Corrientes, bringing the total number of cases in the country to six in the same week that the World Health Organization declared the malady a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC) after an outbreak in Africa.

    The Monetary Policy Committee (Copom) of Uruguay's Central Bank (BCU) decided Friday to maintain the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) at 8.5% for the third month in a row to help keep inflation downwards and en route to the 4.5% Monetary Policy Horizon, it was announced in Montevideo after the first Copom meeting chaired by BCU's new president, Washington Ribeiro.

    Oropouche spreads throughout all of Brazil but five States

    Brazil's Health Ministry issued a sanitary bulletin Friday admitting that Oropouche fever has spread nationwide, except for only five out of the 27 States, namely the Federal District (Brasilia), Goiás, Paraná, Rio Grande do Norte, and Rio Grande do Sul, Agencia Brasil reported.
