Prince Harry will be visiting Brazil and Chile this month in support of the UK's interests in the region and will reflect the strong relationship the two countries have with the UK. The visit will also allow Prince Harry to build on the links he began to forge in South America during his official visit to Brazil in March 2012.

The prince arrives in Brazil on 23 June, before travelling to Chile on 26 June and will conclude on Sunday 29 June.

The Prince will undertake engagements on behalf of the British government and in support of some of his main charitable interests, including helping underprivileged young people, sustainable conservation issues, and promoting the work of the Armed Forces. He will also attend two FIFA World Cup matches during his visit to Brazil.

According to the program on (23 June in Brasilia Harry will visit a hospital specializing in rehabilitation, orthopedic and neuropsychological work, plus the Cameroon v Brazil World Cup match.

The following day in Belo Horizonte the prince will attend the training base for Team GB and Paralympics GB during the Rio 2016 Olympics. Also, the Costa Rica v England World Cup match.

Finally 25/26 June in Sao Paulo, Harry will visit an environmental project to help protect the Atlantic Rainforest; a community program supporting disadvantaged children; The Queen’s Birthday Party hosted by the British Ambassador to Brazil at the GREAT Britain House; and a social project to help reduce crime and drug abuse.

On 27 June Harry arrives in Santiago for his first visit to Chile, and the program begins with a wreath laying at the monument of Chile’s founding father Bernardo O’Higgins followed by a visit to the presidential Palace for a meeting with President Michelle Bachelet.

Later in the day the prince will visit a kindergarten for underprivileged children, a military unit, and The Queen’s Birthday Party, hosted by the British Ambassador to Chile.

The following day in Valparaíso Harry will meet the firefighters of the 11th Fire Company (the British volunteers), representatives of the city’s other fire services and members of the British community; families affected by the Valparaiso fires in April 2014; and an NGO which provides emergency housing for those living in poverty.

On 29 June, a charitable foundation, that provides day care for children with mental and physical disabilities.

Prince Harry has visited Brazil on one previous occasion for an official visit in March 2012. During the trip, Prince Harry visited Rio de Janeiro, where he attended a GREAT event on Sugarloaf Mountain, took part in a sports event to demonstrate the links between London 2012 and Rio 2016, and visited a Favela. Prince Harry also played in the Sentebale Polo Cup in Sao Paulo State.

In recent years, Prince Harry has supported a number of charities that work in the fields of helping underprivileged young people build their skills and aspirations, supporting communities to help preserve their natural resources and promoting the work of servicemen and women. These issues also represent the key areas of focus for The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

    Sounds very hectic.

He is a GREAT ambassador for the UK as his recent visit down under showed.

The Queen's children have been greatly overshadowed by her grandchildren.

I wouldn't necessarily say that, but most of what some of the previous generation does is more sedate meetings and paperwork rather than jet-setting and flesh-pressing, as befits people who are creeping closer to retirement age.

Anne would be the best example, she's 63 but she's still the one of the British members of the International Olympic Committee, as well as St John Ambulance and a host of other things.

One thing that might have been a nice touch would be for Harry to go and see the Chile v Australia game (seeing as he's potentially their future head of state as well).

As fourth in line to the throne behind a grandmother who will see out a century, Harry isn't a potential head of state any longer.
